#60 Charity Challenge

Ben Jones #60 Charity Challenge

Tennessee Titans football center Ben Jones and wife Alex want to make giving to Middle Tennessee nonprofits a snap this football season.

Through The Jones Mission and its #60 Charity Challenge, the philanthropic couple has pledged to give $10,000 - each month during the NFL season - to a designated area nonprofit.

Ben and Alex also are encouraging as many friends and Titans fans to pitch in with hopes of providing additional funding to each of the benefiting organizations.

It’s one of many efforts they have worked together on to help give at-risk youth a chance to succeed at life.

The Jones Mission, established by Ben and Alex Jones in 2017 at The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, supports at-risk youth by providing grant funding, educational opportunities and additional resources to area nonprofits working to enhance the lives of children in Middle Tennessee and beyond.

SEPTEMBER NONPROFIT SPOTLIGHT

Endure Athletics
Endure Athletics is a nonprofit organization that enriches the lives of homeless children and youth living in Rutherford County. They equip these children with the necessary life skills, educational support, and mentorship so that they can break their vicious cycle of poverty. They are able to do this through a fee-free After School Program, 9-week Summer Camp, and various other enrichment activities throughout the year.

More Than Sport

  • Mental Health (Adverse Childhood Experiences) – Endure Athletics builds strong relationships with the families so that they trust them to refer their child for counseling led by licensed counselors. They initiate Group Counseling Sessions first and then ultimately provide opportunity for one-on-one counseling sessions in order to meet the needs of each individual child. Further, they provide transportation to and from (a major barrier for many homeless families) & pay all counseling session fees.
  • Family Assistance – While Endure Athletics does not provide permanent housing, they understand that their families are not financially stable. With that said, because of the strong relationship they build with the families, they can support them from time to time and pay for a motel instead of having to sleep on the street. Endure Athletics uses a high level of discernment when it pertains to the use of these funds.
  • Transportation – With all its programs and activities, Endure Athletics provides the needed transportation to and from each day. None of the homeless children and youth that they serve would be able to participate in any of the programs (after school program, 9-week summer camp, enrichment) if they didn’t provide transportation.
